Matt Tully quoted me in his column. I don’t like bans because I think that a person is responsible for their actions.. If you destroy my property or hurt me, you are responsible. In the case of the water ban, give me the relevant information, and i will most likely decide to do what is in the interest of my community. A government ban usually just stops responsible citizens that would never hurt others anyways. The irresponsible cities amongst us just don’t care.
Or, as Chris Spangle, executive director of the Libertarian Party of Indiana, put it: “Hoosiers are an ornery people. They have a libertarian streak, and there’s a strong sense of: Who are you to tell me what to do?”
