Lindsey: Getting Through COVID-19, Together | pt. 2

There are lots of ways for us to help our friends, neighbors, and communities during the difficult challenges that for many have already begun and will likely persist for the next several weeks, or even months. In our Getting Through COVID-19, Together series, we will look at specific ways to do just that.

Spread Helpful Tips and Information

This is one of the easiest ways we can help each other during this time of social-distancing and pandemic. It’s often been said that information is the most valuable commodity, and that is especially true now. By sharing helpful tips and useful information with each other, we can help our friends, families, and communities at virtually zero cost to ourselves.

If you go grocery shopping and notice that a store has a large stock of toilet paper, eye contact solution, rice, bread, any item that is experiencing shortages, let your family and friends now. (Or, better yet, offer to pick some up for them if you’re able to.)

If you discover a new, fun card game to play, share it with others to help them pass the time.

If you discover a great recipe that involves common pantry items that most people will have, share the recipe with others so they can enjoy it too.

If you see a social media post (from a credible source, of course) describing how to tell the difference between COVID-19, common cold, and seasonal flu symptoms, share it so that others will know the difference too.

If you know of a restaurant offering special discounts, free delivery, etc., let other people know

If you find a wonderful new author to read or website to browse and learn from, spread the word.

The possibilities for this are truly endless. We’ll run across certain special pieces of knowledge of the next few weeks, and we can do the most good by doing our part to make sure that as many of these pieces as possible are put together.
