A Statist Future will be an ongoing exercise to give a voice of reason along side one of rationalization. A multitude of writers will come together to give all of you an outside the box experience of the political world. Check back on a regular basis for more!
The ball from castaway would have you believe that Rand Paul is a libertarian hero, a champion of the people and the individual… But he isn’t and never will be. Rand rationalizes some truly awful moves for the same reason the bad guy doesn’t see what he is doing as bad… everyone else is doing it so why shouldn’t I???? We are told that Rand voted for Sessions because the other choice would of been worse … wait … isn’t that the very excuse we are given to as why more people don’t vote Libertarian? Thought so… Moving on…
Wait, you don’t think that’s a good enough reason to say Rand isn’t a good guy? Don’t know what kind of guy Rand is, but he is no Libertarian ( self admitted ) and is no fan of removing the legitimacy of the government from our lives.
Once we get past the beached ball’s love of all things Rand ( a common theme with this site ) we are shown that Sessions is a dummy, along with many politicians, because he is ignoring simple economic functions laid out by some old white dude. Great, now what? Oh is that what you were going to use to draw more people into being libertarians? Get them to apologize for your favorite Master…err…Politician and then throw some economics at them doesn’t sound like a very good plan… almost sounds like what Libertarians are made fun of for… turning all human experience into economics.
Mr. Deflated Ball wants us to know of the effects of a continued drug war, and it’s going to cost lots of money and people we aren’t supposed to like are going to make money too.
“Billions of tax-dollars will be wasted, countless lives will be ruined, and the drug cartels will make billions more in profit if the new Attorney General continues his course. ”
Those are some of the least important problems we are facing, considering the last “article” the ball put out was about Rand coming to save the day with healthcare… Instead of talking about the freedom we all possess to consume and grow whatever we want, to medicate ourselves in whatever way we deem fit, to live lives free from intervention by other men… to talk about the billions that would be saved from the medicinal uses … on and on and on just in one single sector do we have a endless stream of hard hitting reasons to end the war on drugs…
The War on Drugs is steeped in racism and all things government. It has formed a culture of distrust and ignorance on not only weed, but botany, chemistry, medicine, social order, and the fucking meaning of life. It has given man dominion over other man in a way not socially acceptable since the days of slavery. It must be stopped at any cost, at all levels of government.
Even the Libertarian position is on the individual self being the one who decides on what will be consumed … not the federal government or the states. We can’t stop at just “legal” weed, we must stop at absolute individual freedom to consume and grow and medicate however we see fit. The Libertarian way of seeing this would be to not view the cartels as evil bad men, but business men providing a market good, entire communities of people supporting themselves… people going to work and making a living… The big evil cartels you think of are products made by and up for Governments.
